Looking for rental housing in the San Francisco Bay Area?

home  |   back

You may want to get a credit report.. here's why:

  • Presenting a credit report with your rental application is a good way to show that you are financially responsible, and may help you stand out against other potential tenants.
  • Many landlords perform credit checks, so it is wise to confirm that your report accurately reflects your credit history.  Even if the landlord runs their own credit check, you should be prepared to address any concerns that he or she may have.

 How to get your report

  • All three of the major credit reporting agencies now offer instant online access to your credit report. Prices fluctuate, but generally range between $10 to $15 for a single agency report, and $30 to $40 for a combined report from all three agencies.
  • Be sure to read each company's fine print for circumstances under which you may be entitled to a free copy of your report.
  • We do not sell or make commissions from credit reports - links below are provided for your convenience.
